Stuart Neil Bagnall

Stuart passed away on Jan 11, 2018 in Houston, TX following a brief illness. He was the dear husband of Julianne Sampson Bagnall of Sugar Land, TX. Beloved father of Kevin Bagnall, also of Sugar Land, and Kelly Bagnall of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born in Bakersfield, CA on July 19, 1956 to Stanley and Ruby Bagnall, who greet him now in his eternal home with Jesus Christ. Stuart is survived by his sister Nancy Strunk of Nevada and his brother Scott (Terri) Bagnall of Bakersfield, CA. Stuart graduated from North High School in 1974, and met Julie later that year at Bakersfield College. After a long engagement, they married in 1978. Following family tradition, Stuart was employed by Chevron. He worked several years as an operator in the Kern River Oil Field. After Stuart graduated from Cal State University Bakersfield in 1995, he was transferred to Houston, TX where he worked as a corporate auditor. His job took him to many international locations, including Thailand, South Korea, and Angola. The most important thing in Stuart’s life was his family. His kids were his pride and joy, and Stuart was considered a father figure by many of his children’s friends. Stuart was never prouder than when he went to a high school football game and saw Kevin in the Junior ROTC color guard and Kelly performing with the dance team. We have wonderful memories of family vacations in Mammoth Lakes, New Orleans, Disneyland and Disney World. We enjoyed several camping trips, where he taught the kids how to make a campfire and catch fish. Back home, Stuart took us out on summer nights to see fireflies dancing in the bushes, and watch meteorites streak across the August skies. Stuart put on fantastic fireworks displays in front of our house for the Fourth of July and New Year’s Eve every year. He risked life and limb by taking the kids out on country back roads to teach them how to drive our old truck. He taught them how to play chess and the proper way to drink good whiskey. Gone much too soon at 61 years old, Stuart’s warmth and generosity will be missed by all. We are blessed to have had this wonderful man in our lives.
