Rosalie Mary Sralla

October 9, 1930 – June 11, 2025, With grace and peace, Rosalie Mary Sralla, age 94, was called home to be with her Lord on June 11, 2025. She passed quietly in her sleep at Fort Bend Healthcare Center in Rosenberg, Texas, where she had lived for the past two years, surrounded by compassionate caregivers and newfound friends. Born October 9, 1930, in Orchard, Texas, Rosalie lived a life rooted in love, faith, family, and hard work. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, a cherished sister, and a loyal friend to many. Rosalie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Lester Sralla, Sr., who was her constant companion and partner in all things. She was also welcomed into heaven by her parents, Ladik and Angeline Sabrsula and brother, Albert Sabrsula She leaves behind a legacy of love in her children: Lester Sralla, Jr. and wife Joyce of Needville, Texas; Kathryn Morrison and husband Robert of League City, Texas; and Connie Teykl and husband Craig of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by her dear sisters: Henrietta Rosenbaum, Aileen Zurovec, Willie Mae Kalisek, and Doris Kolafa, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. Rosalie’s greatest joy was her growing family. She was a proud grandmother to Jason Sralla, Sienna Wygrys, twins Cassie Teykl Flinn (Eric) and Ashley Teykl Gilliam (Tim), Jamie Teykl Paces (Ryan), Jenny Hancock, Jamie Phillips, and Jana Hadfield who have given her 17 great-grandchildren! Rosalie and Lester built their life together in Needville, Texas, where they were faithful members of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church. For many years, Rosalie ran and owned a small bar in Needville, known not just as a business, but as a gathering place where friends became family. After her retirement — alongside Lester from Fort Bend County Precinct #2 — the two enjoyed over three decades of life together, sharing laughter, love, and quiet contentment. Following Lester’s passing in 2015, Rosalie lived between Austin, Needville and League City where her children cared for her until her health began to decline. At that time, she moved permanently to the Fort Bend Healthcare Center in Rosenberg, Texas to be cared for 24 hours a day by professionals. There, she enjoyed rekindling old friendships, making new ones, playing dominoes, and discovering a love for Bingo. Her quick wit and warm smile never faded. Her family would like to express deep gratitude to the kind and attentive staff at FBHC, to her sweet roommate Anita and Anita’s daughter Gloria Duran, who became like family to her. Special thanks also to the hospice team who walked alongside her with compassion and grace during her final days.
