Richard C. Rangel

Richard C. Rangel, 59, of Rosenberg, Texas passed away on July 7, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 23, 1958 in Sugar Land, Texas to Manuel Rangel Sr. and Ysidra (Cervantez) Rangel. “Ricky” as he was known to his family and friends was the life of the party. Always there to lend a helping hand he was sometimes referred to as “Meals on Wheels.” Ricky loved to watch all sports but especially his beloved Houston sports teams. If you knew him, you knew his love of music, baseball, and barbequing. In his younger days he was an avid baseball player and eventually a coach for a co-ed softball team. “Rockin Rick” would spend weekends DJ’ing with his nephew, Michael “DJ Tazz” He was a jokester and enjoyed making people laugh. This loving husband, father, “Popo”, brother and friend will be truly missed. In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his siblings, Janie Rios, Peter Rangel Sr. and Manuel Rangel, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Virginia (Guerrero) Rangel; children, Rosalinda Salinas (Greg), Selina Rangel (Jessie White), Ricky Rangel (Brittany Moreno), Amanda Rangel (Rudy Rodriguez)and Valerie Rangel; siblings, Dolores Medina, Gloria Rosilez (Larry), Benito Rangel (Florinda); Susan, Ralph (Amy) and Mary Theresa Rangel; grandchildren, Brittany Marek, Brandi and Lexie Salinas, Damien, Cory, Jocelynn and Jakolby White, Ayven, Nolan and Lya Grace Rangel, Nicholas Rangel, Caleb Gonzales, Noah Rodriguez, Anthony and Ariana Martinez, Jayden Nava and Javier Martinez; great grandchildren, Jase, Jaxxon and Rylee Marek, and Elliana Schilling; along with extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2018 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Rosenberg with Father Lee Flores officiating.
