Price Curd Campbell, M.D.

Dr. Price Curd Campbell, 84, passed away on March 24, 2009, in Richmond, Texas. He was born to Roy and Nell Campbell, February 25, 1925 in Davenport, Iowa. Price served in the U.S. Navy as a surgeon from February, 1943 to December, 1945 and was awarded an American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal. Price received his undergraduate degree from the University of Louisville and graduated from Northwestern University Medical School in Illinois in 1950, specializing in Urology. Price practiced surgery and medicine for over 45 years, and was a life-time member of the Harris County Medical Society. Price served as Chief of Staff at Memorial Southeast Hospital as well as numerous other advisory positions. Price is survived by his wife, Sharon Kennedy Campbell, their four beloved dogs "the girls", Sammy, Smuffy, Sugar, and Sweet-Pea, his sister, Brent Campbell Mackler, his daughter Cathryn Liane Peavy and her husband Mark, their children Christopher Price and Jonathan Carey, his son Stephen Price Campbell and wife Janice, their children Jennifer Lauren Sartor and husband Matt, their twin daughters Ava and Sophia, Michael Stephen Campbell and wife Kristin, Richard James Campbell, step-children, James Garrett and wife Kay, their children, Carley, Lindsey and Reid, Scott Lease and wife Kimberly, their children Layne and Levi and Windy Calvert and husband Don, their son Peyton-James, and dear family friend Becky Sims, and her daughter Peggy Lloyd and friend Paul Garrard, and Peggy's daughter, Hope Lloyd. Price was an outstanding husband, father, granddad and great-granddad. He loved his family, his dogs, his home, the beach, the mountains, classical music, but most importantly he loved life. He loved all outdoor activities and played years of duplicate bridge. We are saddened by our loss. Those wishing to celebrate his life are invited to join the family at his favorite restaurant Karl's at the Riverbend, 5011 FM 723 Road, Richmond, Texas at 3:00 P. M., Saturday March 28, 2009.
