Nelson Herman Psencik

Nelson Herman Psencik, 89, of Rosenberg, passed away on February 8, 2026. He was born on February 16, 1936 in Rosenberg, Texas to Millie and Herman Psencik. Nelson attended Lamar High School, Class of ’54 and went on to honorably serve our country in the U.S Navy from 1956-1960. He started his career with the U.S. Postal Service in September of 1960 where he delivered mail until his retirement in February of 1991. Never one to be idle, Nelson went to work for Kroll’s Marine in May of that year to occupy his time and to be able to meet and talk with people that shared his same interests. Nelson was a fixture in the community and will be missed. Nelson is survived by his son, Stephen Herman Psencik and his wife, Danna Krnavek Psencik and their children, Chase S. Psencik and wife, Hannah V. Psencik and Brianna J.M. Cizek and husband, Blake C. Cizek; great grandchildren, Harrison F. Psencik, Crawford W. Psencik and Brooklynn M. Cizek; along with extended family and friends. Nelson loved fishing and hunting and had a large group of friends who he enjoyed the camaraderie with. He enjoyed processing his own game at his home with friends. Nelson taught his son Stephen and his grandson, Chase how to fish and hunt from early on. He especially loved taking his grandson Chase fishing and hunting and teaching him about the outdoors. He treasured the time making Slim Jims with his great grandsons, Harrison and Crawford in his building in his back yard. He was also extremely proud of his granddaughter Brianna and her little girl Brooklynn bringing femininity into his life. The family appreciates his neighbors and friends who were so kind and always there for him. Also, we thank his caregivers that were there at the end and were very supportive for the family. A service celebrating Nelson’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 28, 2026 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg followed by burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. For those wishing, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
