Milton Joseph Vyvial

Funeral services for Milton Joseph Vyvial, 91, of Rosenberg, will be held at 2:00 P. M., Monday, November 5, 2007 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. A Masonic graveside service will follow at Rosenberg City Cemetery conducted by Rosenberg Masonic Lodge #881. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P. M. until 9:00 P. M., Sunday, November 4, 2007 in the State Room of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Milton was born on October 6, 1916 near Richmond to Joseph John and Tresie Trlica Vyvial. His grandparents immigrated to Texas from Moravia in the 1880s. When he started school in Richmond, Czech was the only language he knew and graduated from Richmond High School in 1934. He first worked at the Civil Conservation Corp. in Polk and Tyler Counties where he met and married Effie Annie Stimac on April 29, 1939. After CCC, he worked in the Ft. Bend County road construction building roads and bridges as a heavy equipment operator. He worked for many construction companies operating draglines and other heavy equipment. When Gulf States Tube Quanex plant opened he was hired as a millwright and retired in 1985. Milton was a long time member of First United Methodist Church in Rosenberg, a lifetime member of SPJST Lodge #175, a member of the Masonic Lodge #881 for 55 years and the Eastern Star in Rosenberg. He also coached little league softball in Rosenberg. Milton passed away on November 1, 2007 in Rosenberg. Milton is preceded in death by his parents, John and Tresie Vyvial; brothers, John, Lee and Arnold Vyvial and sister, Olive Vyvial Grady. He is survived by his loving wife, Annie StimacVyvial; Son: James M. Vyvial and wife, Annalou; Daughter: Theresa Ann Cleveland and husband, Allan; 6 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; Brother: Allen Vyvial and wife, Elizabeth; And nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends. The family would like to thank the Odeyssey Hospice staff as well as the staff at the Fort Bend Nursing Home for their care of our loved one. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in memory of Milton to First United Methodist Church, 1127 Third St., Rosenberg, 77471.
