Join the family in celebrating the life of Michele Deiss Ratcliff at 10:00 A. M., Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Family and friends are cordially invited to visitation at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg on Monday, July 30, 2007 from 5:00 P. M. until 9:00 P. M. Michele, a Richmond resident, was born on April 11, 1968 and left this world on July 27, 2007 with a band of angels carrying her to heaven after a courageous battle with Inflammatory Breast Cancer. The shining light of her life was her children. She was a vivacious and caring woman who touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A 1986 graduate of B. F. Terry High School, she was a homemaker and devoted volunteer at Williams Elementary and was named volunteer of the year. We will forever hold her in our hearts as she joins her grandparents, Leroy Deiss, Willie Mae and Joe Silhavy and father-in-law Conway Ratcliff. Michele is survived by her husband of 15 years, Mike Ratcliff of Richmond; Son: Justin Ratcliff of Richmond; Daughter: Carley Ratcliff of Richmond; Step Daughter: Dayna Marcum and husband, Tyler, of League City; Parents: Douglas and Helen Deiss of Rosenberg; Mother-in-law: Flora Dee Ratcliff of Arkansas; Grandmother: Bessie Deiss of Needville; Sister: Tracey Deiss and friend, Stephen Sackman, of Keller; Sister-in-law: Connie Urbina and husband, Carlos, of Irving; Step Grandchildren: Kenli and Kamron Marcum of League City; Family Pet: Lance; along with other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Michele to The Rose, 3400 Bissonnet, Suite 185, Houston, Texas, 77005. Pallbearers will include Patrick Deiss, David Deiss, John Gerken, Alton Hartfield, Tyler Marcum and Aaron Urbina. Honorary pallbearers will include Justin Ratcliff, Stephen Sackman and Don Psensik. The family wishes to thank Oak Bend Medical Center and the Skilled Nursing Staff, Dr. Dandona, the staff at Cambridge Health and Rehab, Dr. Arzu, M. D. Anderson and her many caring friends and family who were always there for her. God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered Come to Me. With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away, and though we loved you dearly we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating with gentle hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
