Lupe Arizpe Galvan

Lupe Galvan, a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother, went on to meet her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023, after passing away peacefully in her home in Richmond, Texas. She was 63. Lupe was born in Richmond on Jan. 26, 1960, to Enrique and Juanita Arizpe, and, along with her twin sister Mary, was the youngest of eight children. Among the many things Lupe's family and friends will remember most are her kind and selfless spirit, her strong faith in God, and her contagious smile and sense of humor. More than anything, she loved her family, especially her grandkids, who were her pride and joy. She loved attending their sporting events and dance recitals, often bragging about them to everyone she knew. To her siblings, children, nieces and nephews, Lupe was incredibly generous and compassionate, always more than willing to be a shoulder to lean on, a rock of support, and an open ear to listen to anyone who needed to talk things out, through good times and bad. Even when she was battling through her own tough times, a common phrase she would tell her loved ones was, "Let me know if you need anything. I'm here for you." Lupe was a true example of what it means to live life to the fullest. She traveled often with family and friends and had an adventurous spirit that constantly kept her on the go. Most recently, she was able to experience the beauty of North America as she and her husband Daniel rode in motorcycle rallies through several places all across the country, with one of her favorites being the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. Throughout her life, she also enjoyed dancing, exercising, running in numerous 5K and 10K events, and always rooting for her Dallas Cowboys. Her family will be the first to say that even now, she will still be cheering them on from heaven. Lupe was preceded in death by her parents and her oldest sister, Dora Gonzales, with whom she has now been reunited to share the joy of eternal life in Christ. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Galvan; her siblings Alejandra Gonzales, Juan Olivarez, Larry Arizpe, Susie Marietta, Janie McNeil and Mary Arizpe; her son Eddie Munguia, Jr., his wife Nina and their children, Mila Loren, Isabela Rose and Olivia June; her son Randy Munguia, his wife Selena and their children Christian Troy, Katelyn Faith and Nolan Thomas; her daughter Sarah DeLeon, her husband Joseph and their children Andrew Eliseo, Miles Anthony and Arielle Katie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services to celebrate Lupe's life will be held Monday, Aug. 7, 2023, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. with a closed casket per her request, followed by service at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
