John Thomas Williams

John Thomas Williams, 83, of Stafford was born November 2,1935 in Waxhaw, Mississippi to Christopher Columbus “C.C.” Williams and Mollie Jordan Williams, and went to be with Our Lord on January 10,2019 in Sugar Land, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents C.C. and Mollie Williams, sisters, Edith Welch, Emily Williams, Rozelle Peckham, Genevieve Carpenter, Mabel Carpenter and brothers, Roy, G.C. and Thomas Williams. John is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Frances Failla Williams; son, Christopher Anthony Williams and wife, Valerie and daughter, Deborah Lynn Williams; granddaughter, Tiffany Marie, and husband Matthew Wagner; grandson, Anthony Joshua “A.J.” Williams; great grandchildren Hazel Marie and James Anthony Wagner and his only living sister, Ray Martin. John moved from Mississippi to the Midland/Odessa area at the age of 14 to find work in the oilfield. He honorably served our country in the United States Army as a paratrooper from 1951-1956 making 25+ jumps during the Korean War. He met the love of his life in 1955, Frances Failla, and they married in 1959 having 59 wonderful years together. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Stafford, Texas for nearly 60 years and retired from Finger Furniture Company after 33 years of devoted service. John was a man of character, honesty and strength. He had a wonderful sense of humor and truly cared for others. He loved the outdoors, running and had a lifelong passion for fishing, especially in Galveston Bay, which he passed down this love to his children and grandchildren. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He will truly be missed by all. Visitation will be held at Davis Greenlawn Chapel, Rosenberg, Texas on Tuesday, January 15, from 5-8 with Rosary at 7 PM. Funeral will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, Missouri City, Texas, Wednesday, January 16 at 10:30AM.
