Jimmy "Jim" Swilley

Jimmy “Jim” Lloyd Swilley, 77, of Richmond, Texas, passed away Thursday April 9th, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Lufkin, Tx Jim was the only son born to his parents, Lloyd and Edna Swilley; was the baby of the family, joining his sisters Elaine and Melba. The Swilleys later moved to Orange, Tx where he later graduated from Little Cypress High School. He was part of a close and loving family long before he created one of his own with his beloved wife. Jim was a devoted husband to his wife, Jimmie Sue of almost 56 years, and a proud father to his two children, Michele and Jason, and his daughter in law Sunny. His greatest joy came from his family, especially his four grandchildren—Kayla, Keen, Jude, and Kason—who brought endless pride and happiness into his life. Whether sharing stories, offering guidance, or simply being present, Jim’s love for his family was steady and unwavering. Jim portrayed the values of hard work, loyalty, and quiet strength throughout his life, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. His strong work ethic was evident. As a honest and loyal member of his community, he dedicated 17 years of service to Kmart, where he was known for his reliability and commitment. Later, he took great pride in building his own carpet cleaning business, Diamond Chem-Dry in August of 1989. Through his business, Jim became known for his integrity, attention to detail, and a deep commitment to customer service, earning the trust and respect of the community he served. He will be remembered for his warm spirit, his sense of humor, and the way he made others feel valued and cared for. Jim lived his life with quiet wisdom and a deep appreciation for the moments that matter most and the people he shared them with. Jim’s legacy will live on through the family and friends he cherished as well as the memories they will carry forever.
