Gregory "Greg" Allen Nowak

Gregory Allen “Greggo” Nowak, 56, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of July 23, 2025 at his home in Richmond, Texas. Greg was born on August 25, 1968, in Wharton, TX to his parents, Tom Nowak and Ginny Fagert Pearce. As a boy, you could find Greg traveling around the country with his parents and spending time with his buddies on BMX bikes around town until the street lights came on. A lifelong resident of Rosenberg/Richmond, Greg attended Lamar Consolidated High School and played trumpet in the Mighty Mustang Band. He then attended WCJC where he was also in band and went on to graduate from The University of Houston with a degree in Industrial Supervision and a minor in Industrial Distribution. Greg always remained a Proud Cougar Fan. After many years waiting tables, bartending, and managing restaurants, Greg went on to work on the corporate side of the hospitality business, most recently with Nando’s Peri Peri as an IT Manager of Restaurant Systems. He built a meaningful career with this company, where his work ethic and integrity earned the respect of colleagues and clients across the world. Greg loved his job and the people he worked with. His “Gregarious” personality made him a perfect fit for an industry whose main goal was to help people celebrate and make memories. He found much success over his 30 plus year career. Greg was a loving husband and father as well as a generous and supportive friend to so many. He loved his children deeply and always put his family first. He spent much of his free time supporting his kids and was ever present at their various activities. Greg was a very involved volunteer for the George Ranch High School Band and was proud to witness all four of his kids’ recently graduate college. Greg was quick with a joke and had a smile for everyone. He never met a stranger and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. If you were lucky enough to call Greg a friend, you were lucky indeed, because you had a loyal brother for life. His close friends describe him as a shining light with a naughty giggle. Greg embraced life almost as much as he embraced people. As a Corvette, Porshe and Ram lover, when not attending car shows or watching his favorite Texans football games, Greg could be found on adventures with the love of his life exploring various favorite locales in Texas, such as Galveston or New Braunfels. He also enjoyed playing darts, dancing, singing karaoke, attending concerts, and mountain biking. Greg also cherished his faith in God, as he attended River Pointe Church. Greg is preceded in death by his Grandparents Fred & Ann Fagert and Frank & Annie Nowak, Stepfather, Charles “Chip” Pearce, Father-in-law, Gene Fogle, and Sister-in-law, Deborah Urbanski. Greg is survived by his loving wife, Mindy Nowak, daughter Melanie “Mels” Boaz and her husband Colton, daughter Rylie “Fu” Brown and her fiancée Brenden Tomlinson, son Garrett “G” Nowak, and daughter Amanda “AP” Nowak. Greg was especially close to his beloved mother, Ginny Pearce and his father, Tom “Pop” Nowak and wife, Janice. He maintained a special bond with his mother-in-law Bonnie “Bon Bon” Fogle. Their precious pup, Bear, was also well-loved and spoiled by Greg as an important member of his family as well. He is also survived by Brother-in-laws Mark Urbanski, Troy Fogle and wife Laura, Step-brothers Greg Schmidt and wife Sherrie, Garren “Puggs” Schmidt and wife Shelly, Step-sister Gayla Love, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Greg was never at a loss for a clever moment. He gave the best hugs and told the best dad jokes of anyone around. His memory will be cherished and carried on through the countless lives he impacted. He was very loved and will be deeply missed. The world has lost a bright light and amazing soul, but we know he is watching over us from Heaven. A celebration of Greg’s life will be held on July 31, 2025 at River Pointe Church in Richmond, Texas with a graveside following at Davis Greenlawn Cemetery in Rosenberg. The viewing will begin at 1:00pm and the service will be at 2:00. Pallbearers will include Barron McMann, Val Reyes, Jason Emmons, Alan Atkins, Robert Evans, Carl McClellan, Randy Paiz and Joe Mendoza. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to a charity of your choice.
