Gloria Jane Zwahr

Funeral services for Gloria Jane Zwahr, 72, of Rosenberg, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 3, 2011 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg with the Pastor Dale Staggemeier officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Visitation is from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Gloria was a devoted wife and loving mother whose greatest joy in life was being with her grandchildren and great granddaughters. Gloria was born November 19, 1938 in Needville, to Edmund Engelhardt and Antonia Legler Engelhardt. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Gloria worked for Lamar CISD as a cook in the food service department and retired in 1996. Gloria enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, fishing and camping. Gloria passed away December 30, 2010 in Rosenberg. Gloria was proceeded in death by her parents, Edmund and Antonia Engelhardt; siblings; Emilia Mueck, Bertha Kaack, Thekla Dabelgott, Elfriede Engelhardt, Vlasta Litta Meyer, Juanita Engelhardt, Verna Dell Tielke, Herbert Engelhardt, Nowell Brandt, Rudolph Engelhardt, Dorothy Kettler; and her daughter, Karen Ann Zwahr. She is survived by her husband, Jimmie John Zwahr of 53 years, son, Karl James Zwahr and wife, Diann; daughters: Tina Denise Holik and husband, Steven; Kimberly Ann Warnasch and husband, Michael; brother, Lloyd Engelhardt and wife, Margie; grandchildren: Bradley Keith Holik and wife, Amy; Clifton Wayne Holik and wife, Melissa; Brandon Karl Zwahr and wife, Karyn; Justin James Zwahr; Craig Allen Warnasch; and Jessica Ann Warnasch. She also is survived by her great granddaughters, Briann Nicole Holik, Madisyn Ann Holik and Addison Paige Holik; sisters-in-law Lavan Feldhoff and Irene Zwahr, brother-in-law Albin Tielke along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers are Bradley Keith Holik, Clifton Wayne Holik, Brandon Karl Zwahr, Justin James Zwahr, Craig Allen Warnasch and Kris Abdi. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Kettler, Charles Brandt and Bobby Zwahr, Sr. For those wishing, memorial donations may be made in memory of Gloria to St. John's United Church of Christ Women's Guild at 1518 Brazos Street, Rosenberg, Texas 77471.
