Evelin Peters Kolar

Evelin Peters Kolar, 91 of Needville went to be with her Lord on January 24, 2016. She was born on Oct 18, 1924 to Leo and Julia Barcak Peters. She was the 4th of six children. Evelin was a lifelong resident of the Tadpole Community in Fort Bend County. She married Daniel Kolar of Guy, TX in 1947. They farmed cotton, corn and milo along with raising cattle and chickens. She loved playing bingo at the KC Hall and would take anybody who wanted to tag along. She also enjoyed decorating wedding and birthday cakes along with sewing, gardening and shopping. Evelin was a lifetime member of St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church where she was a member of the Alter Society and KJZT. She helped with church bazaars and planned funeral dinners and taught the Catholic religion for many years. She briefly worked at Damon Farmers Gin in Damon and sold Studio Girl products in her younger years. Survivors include her daughters, Fayetta Spitdowski and husband Steve Nichols, Rebecca Lynn Stalker; her sons, Dennis Kolar and wife Melba, Gary Kolar, Ronald Kolar and wife Cynthia; grandchildren, James Spitdowski and wife Stephanie, Kris Spitdowski and wife Crystal, Hunter Nichols, JD Stalker, Alex Lane, Jonathan Lane, Eric Kolar and wife Michelle, Crystal Clark and husband Harris, Melissa Jones and husband Michael, Casey Tice and husband Trey, Ronna Kolar, and Courtney Holub; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Lydia White & numerous nieces and nephews. Evelin is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Dennis Kolar; her parents, Leo and Julia Peters; her mother and father in law, William & Emma Kolar; siblings, Arnold Peters, Vlasta Cummings, Millie Pavlicek and Edna Fink; brother and sister-in-laws, Ruth Peters, Louis Cummings, Fred Pavlicek, Alvin Fink, Paul White, JC and Elsie Pollard, Willie Mae Hayes, Della Kolar, Alvin Kolar, and Raymond Kolar; nieces and nephews, Linda Pavlicek Hartman, Connie Pollard, and Gary Hayes. Pall Bearers will include her grandsons, James and Kris Spitdowski, JD Stalker, Jonathan Lane, Eric Kolar, and her son-in-law, Steve Nichols. Honorary pallbearers will include all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Special thanks to all the staff at SPJST Home in Needville, TX and to the staff at Houston Hospice for their wonderful care and kindness. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Damon with Father Marty Pham officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
