Dolares Heitman

Dolares Heitman, 86, made her journey to heaven on June 28th 2024. She was born on February 25, 1938 to John and Louise Dzierzanowski. Dolares was raised on her family farm in Rosenberg, TX. She attended the Cottonwood School and Lamar Consolidated High School, graduating in 1957. Dolares was active in the 4H club raising animals to show at the Fort Bend County fair. She also enjoyed playing volleyball on the high school volleyball team. She loved polka dancing at the local dance halls and transitioned to two-stepping in the 1970s – 1980s. She married Johnny Heitman on October 26, 1963. Johnny and Dolares settled in Sugar Land and enjoyed married life and worked to achieve their goals for the future. Their daughter Melinda was born 10 years later in 1974. Dolares enjoyed taking family vacations every summer which was her favorite season. She enjoyed vegetable gardening and working in her yard. She loved hopping on a casino bus with family and friends to spend the day at a casino playing slot machines. She was a word search puzzle enthusiast and was a faithful reader of the Fort Bend Herald. Dolares loved working with children. She worked for Fort Bend ISD Child Nutrition Department for many years. After being retired for a while she found a position working with children 1-2 years old at the Bridge Church in Sugar Land and was there for many years until the covid shutdown. Dolares is preceded in death by her husband Johnny, parents, John and Louise Dzierzanowski, Louis Dzierzanowski and wife Karen, nephew Michael Michalec, nephew David Dzierzanowski, and sister-in-law Linda Dzierzanowski. Dolares is survived by her daughter Melinda and her husband Steven Schleicher of Sugar Land, sister Sylvia and husband J.D. Michalec of Fairchilds, twin brother Daniel Dzierzanowski of Rosenberg, as well as nieces and nephews cousins and friends. A special thank you goes out to the staff of the Oasis at Pickett Hill. Your care and dedication to Dolares in her time of need will always be remembered. Ladies, you were wonderful and her family thanks you for all of your support. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 1:30 p.m. and funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 5, 2024 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Deacon Gilbert Rodriguez will officiate the services.
