Diana Linda Valchar

Diana Linda Valchar, 74, of Rosenberg, Texas, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024. Diana was the youngest of five siblings born to Leopold and Helen {Stavinoha} Valchar on August 22, 1949. Diana grew up in a devout Catholic household, and upon graduation from Needville High School, she began a career as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell that later became AT&T. She worked in Rosenberg, San Antonio, and Houston before retiring after many years of service. She made her home in Rosenberg, Texas, and devoted herself to taking care of her mother for many years before her passing in 1998. Diana had been an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rosenberg, and St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Needville. Diana enjoyed family get-togethers, traveling to Hawaii, Mexico City, Las Vegas, and gambling trips to Louisiana! She loved playing bingo, and going to church picnics and bazaar’s. Another hobby she enjoyed was researching her family history. Numerous summer trips to visit relatives, collect information from libraries, cemeteries, churches, museums, and historical sites were spent to further her knowledge of family history. Diana is preceded in death by her parents, Leopold and Helen {Stavinoha} Valchar; her sister, Dorothy {Valchar} House; brother-in-law Jimmy R. House; brothers Leopold (Sonny) Valchar and Eugene Valchar; sister Helen (Valchar) Blume; and, niece Cheryl L. House. Diana is survived by her sister-in-law Cynthia (Smith) Valchar, and brother-in-law Jimmy Blume. She is also survived by her nieces Vivien (House) Howe, Debbie (Blume) Rychlik (Kenneth), Dawn (Valchar) Foster (Doug), and nephews James M. House (Regina), Shane Blume (Katrina), and Scott Valchar (Heather). Also surviving are twelve great nieces and nephews - Heather (Howe) Dunn, Michelle & Kelly House, Peyton, Emma, & Libby Foster, Ava & Addley Valchar, Andrew & Jacob Blume, and Kelby (Rychlik) Brewer & Dustin Rychlik. Diana is also survived by 5 great-great nieces and nephews - Addison, Tate, Gracie, Maddie, and Baker. Viewing wlil start at Noon on Saturday, June 22, 2024, with a Rosary at 12:30, and memorial service at 1:00 P.M. at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg, TX : Pall Bearers: James House, Shane Blume, Scott Valchar, Kenneth Rychlik, Doug Foster, Vincent Dunn, Andrew Blume, and Jacob Blume,
