David Perez Martinez

David P Martinez, a proud United States Marine, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 26th, 2025, at the age of 78 surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 14th, 1946, to his loving parents Aufelia Martinez and Satero Guel Martinez in Houston, Texas. David is preceded by his parents Satero and Aufelia Martinez, his twin brother Enrique Martinez, his other brothers Satero (Black) Martinez Jr., Able Martinez, Armondo Martinez, and Gonzalo Martinez, his sisters Leonor Salinas and Ofelia (DiDi) Cano. He served in the Vietnam War in 1967, where he was wounded in combat and was awarded the Purple Heart for his sacrifice and courage. His service to his country was a source of immense pride throughout his life. After returning home, David worked as a skilled machinist, dedicating many years to his craft. He was a true jack of all trades — always ready to lend a hand. He had a special love for the game of golf, spending many happy days on the course. He also loved fishing with his family. Above all, David P Martinez was devoted to his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Gloria Morales Martinez, and his brother, Daniel Martinez. His two children, David Martinez Jr, Jamie Lynn Martinez and son in law, Ronaldo (Manny) Correa. He was the loving grandfather of five, Caleb Dean Martinez, wife Lynsee, Allen Alonzo Barrientos, Jordan Bethany Martinez, Kaitlin Leeann Martinez, and Alexandra Louise Morales Barrientos and the adoring great-grandfather of one, Maxwell Dean Martinez and his Godson, Noah Galaviz. His presence, wisdom, and warmth will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Semper Fi. Visitation will be held at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home on October 9th, 2025, from 05:00 PM – 08:00 PM with a rosary at 06:30 PM. Funeral service will be held on October 10th, 2025, at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 AM with a burial to follow. Pallbearers will include David Martinez Jr., Daniel Martinez, Ronaldo Correa, Allen Barrientos, Noah Galaviz, David Garcia. Honorary pallbearers Caleb Martinez and Rudy Morales.
