Clarence A. Freudensprung

Clarence A. Freudensprung, 98, of Richmond, TX passed away on June 1, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. He was born April 2, 1927, to Charlie H. and Christine David Freudensprung, grew up in Woodrow Community, and graduated from Richmond High School. He married Bernice M. Kubeczka on October 10, 1945, and they were married for 79 years until her passing just four months ago. Clarence played in a country music band from the age of 15 until his early 20s, worked as a carpenter for James Elliott Construction for many years and was a lifetime farmer and rancher in Fort Bend County. During his retirement he continued to work on small engines, a large garden, and managed cattle until the last three years of his life. He was respected and loved by many. In addition to his parents, Clarence is preceded in death by his wife Bernice, brother Marvin Freudensprung, sister-in-law LaVerne Reed Freudensprung, brother Charles Pheffer, and son-in-law Silvan Kovar. Survivors include his children, LaVerne Freudensprung Kovar, Gary Freudensprung and wife Clara, Shirley Freudensprung Hernandez and husband Arthur, Don Freudensprung and his partner Mary Gerwig, and Sandy Freudensprung and wife Paula; grandchildren, Kevin Kovar and partner Sandi Lawrence, Christie Kovar and husband Daryl Peel, Jeff Kovar and wife Linda, and Spring Freudensprung Kapchinski and husband Max; great-grandchildren, Waylon and Nash Kovar, Liliana and Karina Kovar, and Tripp and Brooke Kapchinski; sister Delores Bentke, and sister-in-law Jenice Pfeffer, along with extended family and friends. The family wishes to express their appreciation for the wonderful care given to both Clarence and Bernice by IPR Hospice, especially for their two nurses, Wayne and Lauren, and also to their caregivers, Lidia, Yoli, and Linda for the special care, kindness, and love they showed them. A special thank you to their grandson, Kevin Kovar, who oversaw their care and managed all the details of their home and lives. He was a great source of comfort for them.
