Carolyn Hughes Ragsdale

Carolyn Hughes Ragsdale, 69, of Rosenberg, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grand mother, daughter and aunt, passed away from life and into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on August 21, 2008. Carolyn died peacefully at home after battling cancer and was surrounded by family. Carolyn was born on July 4, 1939 in Valdosta, Georgia to Payton Perry Hughes and Irene Poole Hughes. She grew up in Valdosta, Georgia. She had a distinguished and enjoyable career with Ft. Bend ISD. Carolyn was a faithful and devoted member of First Baptist Church of Needville. She enjoyed spending time reading, gardening and most importantly – cooking. She will always be remembered for her southern charm and wonderful sense of humor. Carolyn is preceded in death by her son, Timmy Ragsdale; siblings, Thelma Rodgers, Alma Cowart, Jim Hughes and Mary Sanders. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Billy R. Ragsdale; children: Debbie De Los Santos, Billy D. Ragsdale, Sammy C. Ragsdale, Jimmy R. Ragsdale, Tony F. Ragsdale, Tammy C. Harmon; sister: Alice Harrell; Brother Bobby Hughes; grandchildren: Michael De Los Santos, Monica Medina, Brian Ragsdale, Brandon Ragsdale, Brandy Hemphill, Josh Ragsdale, Crystal Ragsdale, Craig Ragsdale, Tonya Ragsdale, Emmali Ragsdale, Tyler Harmon, Timmy Harmon, Randi Harmon; multiple great grandchildren; and countless friends and family members. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M., Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Brother Alvis Bell will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M., Friday, August 22, 2008 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Pallbearers will include Josh Ragsdale, Craig Ragsdale, Tyler Harmon, Brian Ragsdale, Brandon Ragsdale, Michael De Los Santos, Doug Eldridge and Timmy Harmon.
