Betty Sue (Brady) Ellison

Betty Sue Brady Ellison was born to Clarence H. Brady and Verna E Brady in Sugar Land, Texas on February 2, 1932. She passed away peacefully on August 14, 2021 with her family by her side. As a child, Betty Sue lived in many different cities due to her dad working in the oil field. One year they moved around so much that she had to attend 3 different schools. Finally they settled in Rosenberg. Betty Sue was very involved in many school activities. Some of those activities were: Future Homemakers, Band, Twirler, Tennis Team, and the FFA Sweetheart. She was also chosen as the Most Beautiful Girl in 1948 and the very first Drum Major for the Lamar Consolidated Band. Betty Sue had many talents. She was an excellent seamstress and made many of her daughters’ clothes. She loved to knit and crochet afghans and give them away to others. Betty Sue was also an amazing cook. Many times she would show up to a doctor’s appointment with something freshly baked to share with the office staff. Everyone loved to see her coming! Betty Sue met her husband, Lloyd Ellison, after high school while both were working at the Rosenberg Bank and Trust. They married in 1951 and were married for 66 years. Betty Sue and Lloyd had 2 daughters, Debbie Verner and Kerry Crockett. All 4 of them are high school graduates from Lamar Consolidated High School. Betty Sue and Lloyd were both faithful members of the Graeber Rd. Church of Christ for over 30 years. Betty Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Dean Ellison, her parents, Clarence H. Brady and Verna E Brady, and brother, Clarence E. Brady. Survivors include her daughters: Debra Kay Verner and Kerry Sue Crockett, and husband Terry, grandchildren: Christopher Dean Verner and wife Jala Kay, Lindy Kay Wilhite and husband William, Courtney Michelle Orem and her husband Eric, Carly Marie Brown and her husband Matthew, and Caitlin Nicole Crockett. Also great grandchildren: Grayson Dean Verner, Gavin Michael Verner, Liam Dean Wilhite, Blake Ryan Brensing, Bentley Michael Brensing, and Syndey Lane Orem, along with other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Graeber Rd. Church of Christ. A funeral will be immediately after the visitation at 2:00. Burial will follow at Davis-Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. A special thanks to all of those who supported and prayed for Betty Sue and our family during her long journey. We also want to thank our Bright Star Caregivers and Vantage Hospice Group for their wonderful love for our mom and our family.
