Austin Lynn Oney

Austin Lynn Oney, 21, of Tomball, Texas, went to be with the Lord and Savior, Saturday, April 21, 2018. He was born November 16, 1996 in Galveston, Texas to Donald Lynn Oney and Latischia Marie McDonald. He attended Humble schools in his early years and moved to Needville, Texas in 2008; graduating from Needville High School in 2015, where he was a member of the football team, Springer Starz, and numerous 4-H clubs. Austin studied at Blinn College and was currently traveling the country working for Quanta Inline Devices as a Field Service Technician. One of Austin’s 4-H accomplishments was a Mission Possible Mentor, where he helped youth with disabilities focus on their abilities and enjoy an inclusive traditional camp experience. Not only did Austin impact the lives of these special children, but they impacted his life as well. He will be remembered for his love of God and family, his generous and loving spirit which impacted everyone he met, and his huge smile which brought joy to everyone. Austin was always there to lift you up, make you laugh, support you with his broad shoulders, or put a gentle arm around you for comfort. Austin wore many hats and had many names such as son, brother, big bambino, “A”, Big “O”, Oney, nephew, cousin, and of course, friend. Austin is survived by his parents, Donald Oney of Wharton and Latischia and Kelly McDonald of Damon; his sister Allyson Oney of Damon; brother Josh Oney, his wife, Josey and their two children Jameson and Jaxon of Midland; sister Teia Holley, her husband Chad and their two children, Chad “Scoop” and Caison of LaPorte; and sister Chelsea McDonald, her fiancée Thadeus Wilkerson and their two children Kileah Jo and Karlee Jean of Needville. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Debora and Jimmy Foo of Humble; Reed McDonald of Happy and fraternal grandmother, Jean Rose of Teague. Austin is also survived by his girlfriend, Brooke Smith of Richmond, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and hundreds of friends who all greatly miss him. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5” was Austin’s favorite bible verse which he wore as a reminder of his growing relationship with God. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Creekside Christian Fellowship – 16628 Highway 36, Needville, Texas 77461 with a reception to follow. It was Austin’s wish to rest near his maternal grandfather Byron “Bud” Edward Parkinson. Interment later in the day will be held at San Jacinto Memorial Park – 14659 East Freeway, Houston, Texas 77015.
