Arlene White Davis

A memorial service for Arlene White Davis, of Richmond, Texas will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2013 at St. John's United Methodist Church in Richmond. Reverend Eric Ryburn and Reverend Kip Gilts will officiate the services. Arlene Rae White Davis was born in Eagle Lake, Texas on October 21, 1924 to Charles Thomas and Vivian Sparks White and moved to Richmond in 1929. After graduating from Richmond High School in 1942, Arlene married Syd W. Davis Jr. in 1944. She worked as Clerk Typist in different Army Corps all over the United States during World War II and worked for Richmond City Hall for 10 years, and after that, as mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Arlene was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a member of two bridge clubs for years and she loved to paint. Arlene was a member of St John's United Methodist Church since 1935. She is preceded in death by her husband, Syd W. Davis Jr.; daughter, Dian Davis Cupito and her husband, Tony Cupito; son, Charles Rae Davis; sister, Dorothy Zumwalt Penino; and brother, Raymond White. Arlene is survived by her son, Syd W. Ren Davis and his wife, Sharon Seiler Davis; daughter-in-law, Debbie Davis Stavinoha and her husband, Mike; grandchildren, Michael D. Cupito and his wife, Tina, and their daughter, Rachael, Anthony T Cupito and his wife, Erin, and their son, Kable, Michell Arlene Cupito and her son, Sydney Morrison, Penny Davis Meek and her children, Cody and Morgan, Julie Davis Gaston and her husband, Robert, Amy Davis Dybala and her husband, Chris, April Davis Urbanek and her husband, Travis, and their children, Quentin and Preston, Brooke Davis Low and her husband, Kyle, and their children, Jackson, Gavin and Channing; sisters-in-law, Virginia Scarborough, Mary Ellen Davis and Mary Katherine White; brother-in-law, Frank Davis and his wife, Elaine; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Honorary Pallbearers serving are Young Scarborough, Davis Scarborough, James Scarborough, Darwin Enax, Pat Gubbels, Lou Payton and Billy Greenwald.
