Anna Kopecky Dobias

A Funeral Mass for Anna Kopecky Dobias, age 104, of East Bernard, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard with Father Don Ruppert officiating the services. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in East Bernard . Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, August 31, 2009 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard led by Jody Kalinowski. Anna was born February 20, 1905 in East Bernard to Thomas and Anna Kneblik Kopecky. She was a faithful member of Holy Cross Catholic Church where she proudly earned her 50 year pin with the Catholic Daughters. Anna was skilled at many things. Some of which included baking, doing seamtress work, gardening, taking care of her family and helping out on the farm. Her love and devotion to her family spanned over 5 generations. She went to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton. She is preceded in death by her husband, John B. Dobias; parents, Thomas and Anna Kopecky; children, Ralph Dobias, Evelyn Wolfenson, Bessie Maly and Leonard Dobias; siblings, William, Millie, Herminia, Rudolph, Frank, Emil, Ludwick, John, Charlie, Tom, Agnes and Joe; daughters-in-law, Doris Dobias and Ann Marie Dobias; and granddaughter, Linda Allen. Anna is survived by her son, John Dobias, daughter, Jeanette Heller and husband, Joe; grandchildren, Dennis Dobias and wife, Paulette, Kathy Srubar and husband, Allan, Michael Dobias and wife, Carol, Diane Gustavus and husband, Doug, Robert Maly and wife, Dona, Sharon Kalicki and husband, Dan, Debbie Maly, David Maly and wife, Lisa, Kathleen Sterling and husband, Pete, Travis Dobias and wife, Stephanie, Joey Dobias and wife, Miki, Joan Davis and husband, Tom, John Dobias and wife, Jennifer, Jennifer Buttitta and husband, Will, Cheryl Cross and husband, Tom, Paul Heller, Donna Alley and husband David, Steven Heller and wife, Traci, Laura Waddle and husband, Mac; along with numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, other family members and many friends. Pallbearers will include Dennis Dobias, Michael Dobias, Robert Maly, David Maly, John Dobias, Paul Heller, Steven Heller, and Allan Srubar. Honorary Pallbearers are all the numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. For those wishing, donations may be made in Anna's name to Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard.
