It is with heavy hearts and deep love, that we announce the passing of Amparo "Tita" Cortez, 86, of Rosenberg, Texas. Funeral services for "Tita" Cortez, 86, of Rosenberg, Texas will be held at 11:30am, Saturday April 25, 2026, at Anchor Bend Church in Richmond, Texas with Edward Zamora officiating. Interment will follow in Rosenberg City Cemetery (formerly W.O.W) in Rosenberg, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, with a prayer service beginning at 6:00pm on Friday February 24, 2026, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Amparo "Tita" was born February 18, 1940, in Pharr, Texas to Santiago Puente and Guadalupe Alanis Puente. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, family matriarch, and treasured friend, "Tita" lived a life rich in kindness, grace, and unconditional love. She was a woman whose greatest accomplishments could never be measured by medals, trophies, titles, or awards. She did not seek recognition, status, or praise. Instead, she quietly built a legacy far greater — one rooted in love, faith, sacrifice, and devotion to others. "Tita" was humble, gentle, and giving. Her passion in life was to sow seeds of love wherever she went. She had a beautiful way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. Through every season of life, she gave freely from her heart, and it was her generosity, thoughtfulness, kindness, and loving spirit that touched countless lives and drew so many people to her. "Tita" was a source of comfort, wisdom, and strength to her family. In her home, her prayers, her stories, and her warm embrace she created memories that will be cherished forever. She loved deeply, gave selflessly, and carried herself with quiet dignity. And that legacy will be carried always through her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren forever. "Tita" is preceded in death by her husband Robert M. Cortez, Sr., her parents Santiago Puente, Sr. and Guadalupe Alanis Puente Rodriguez, son Ismael "Melly" Cortez, granddaughter Amanda Cortez... loved ones who welcomed her home with open arms. She is survived by her Sons: Sabas Cortez, III of Rosenberg, Robert Cortez, Jr. and wife, Elsa, of Rosenberg, Pedro Cortez of Rosenberg: Daughter: Darlene Cortez and Eduardo Flores of Rosenberg; Grandchildren: Tiffani Cortez, Kristie Cortez Baize and husband Aaron, Rebecca Cortez, Chelsea Cortez, Nikki Cortez Barela and husband Pete, Robert Cortez, III and wife Abby, Christopher Robert Cortez, Bridgette Cortez Villamil and husband Mario, and Sabas Cortez IV; 15 great-grandchildren whom she cherished: Grayson, Parker, Maddox, Sofia, Robby, Asa, AJ, Grace, Jude, Peter, Eli, Elisa, James, Jacob and Isabelle. Brothers: Jose Puente, Ruben Rodriguez and Jesse Rodriguez; along with countless nieces, nephews and so many other family members and many friends. Their lives will forever be blessed by her presence and will continue to honor her memories through the love she gave them. Though her earthly journey has come to an end, the love she planted will continue to bloom through the generations she leaves behind. Her memory will live on in every life she touched and in every heart that was blessed to know her. Pallbearers will include Sabas Cortez, III, Robert Cortez, Jr., Pedro Cortez, Robert Cortez III, Christopher Robert Cortez, Sabas Cortez IV and Eduardo Flores. Honorary Pallbearers include Tiffani Cortez, Kristie Cortez Baize, Rebecca Cortez, Chelsea Cortez, Nikki Cortez Barela, Bridgette Cortez Barela. "Tita" will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
