Amador "Amo" Gonzales

Amador Gonzales, fondly known as “Amo”, passed away on February 28, 2025 at the age of 77. He was born on September 12th in Beasley, Tx to Guillermo and Benita Lopez Gonzales. Amador was a graduate of Lamar High School, Class of ‘66 where he was a standout athlete in football and track. Amador went on to have a thriving and long-lasting career of 50 years at Helfman Ford as a top Salesman. He was also a devoted and active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and a founding father of The Knights of Columbus. Within the Knights of Columbus, he once held the prestigious and highest elected position of, The Grand Knight. Recently retired, he enjoyed spending his days with his seven grandchildren and supporting them in their various activities. He enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Astros and the Rockets. He also supported his community through various acts of volunteering. Amador will be remembered for his upstanding character, outgoing personality and optimistic outlook on life. Amador was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed. Amador is survived by and was previously married to Delia Padia with whom he shared his three children, Mario Gonzales and wife, Terri; Rebecca Barboza and husband, Christopher; Andrea Gonzales and husband, Ramiro. His grandchildren, Alyssa King and husband, Elijah, Diego and Dylan Gonzales; Nathaniel Barboza; Katalina, Kanaan and Kruz Ibarra. Brother, Ernest Gonzales and wife, Virginia and sister, Beatrice Gonzales West and husband, Jack. Also, nephew Phillip Gonzales and wife, Luciana. Amador is predeceased by his parents, Guillermo and Benita, sister, Benita Gonzales, brother, Bill Gonzales and niece, Tiffany Gonzales. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 10, 2025 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Rosenberg with Father Lee officiating.
