Virginia Luna Cardenas, 56, of Rosenberg, Texas passed away on January 14, 2021. She was born on April 13, 1964 in Richmond, Texas to Leonel G. Luna, Sr. and Gregoria Torres Luna. Virginia was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rosenberg. She was also joyfully employed at Fort Bend Christian Academy, where she was loved by students and faculty and fondly referred to as “Ms. Virginia”. This loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend will truly be missed. Virginia is preceded in death by her life-long companion, Alberto Cardenas, Sr.; her father, Leonel G. Luna, Sr., her brother, Raymond Luna; and sister-in-law, Rita Gonzales. Survivors include her mother, Gregoria Luna; children, Ana A. Cardenas Kruse and spouse, Carl D. Kruse, Alberto Cardenas Jr. and spouse, Ashley N. Cardenas, and Vanessa Cardenas; siblings, Ignacio Gonzales, David Luna and spouse, Guadalupe Luna, Guadalupe Luna, Paul Luna and spouse Eva Garcia, Robert Luna, Norma Luna, Linda Gonzalez and spouse, Rigoberto Gonzalez, Lionel Luna, and Diane Villarreal and spouse, Larry Villarreal, Jr.; honorary daughter, Sierra Victoria Flores; honorary grandson, Adrian Macias III; and foster grandson; along with a host of extended family, friends, and colleagues. Virginia was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first grandbaby (due 2021). Honorary pallbearers will include Jonathan D. Davis, Carl D. Kruse, Larry Villarreal III, Rigoberto Gonzalez, Jr., Anthony M. Lozano, Andrew J. Lozano, Gary Wayne Luna and Joseph Luna. The family invites you to a visitation on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The funeral home is limited to 50 people at a time and facial coverings must be worn. For your safety, social distancing is recommended. Due to current COVID-19 Restrictions, the immediate family will gather for a private memorial service at 1:00 p.m. following the public visitation. (The service will be live-streamed through Virginia’s Obituary Page on the funeral home website).
