Born in Dallas and raised in Houston where she attended Lamar High School then transferred to Randal School in Denver, Co. She received a Bachelor of Music degree from Southern Methodist University in piano and organ. She served as organist for several churches around the Houston area including South Glen Presbyterian Church and the First Presbyterian Church of Dickinson. She retired as the organist for the First Presbyterian Church of Sugarland, Texas. She considered her church family at First Presbyterian Church as her greatest blessing. She was strong in her faith and found fulfillment in her role as organist for the church. She taught piano and organ all her adult life. She taught piano at various H&H Music and Sherman Clay stores from the west side of Houston to Baytown. She taught the Yamaha Music Education System at Fort Bend Music Center where her classes ranged from 4-year-olds to adults (her favorite). In 1992, she was honored to be the first teacher to be awarded the Yamaha National Teacher of the Year. She is remembered for her passionate, patient yet irreverent approach to teaching piano. During the 1970's and 80's she played piano in nightclub/restaurant venues teaming with her sister, Georgia Linn as a duo. She played for years on Friday and Saturday nights at Furr’s cafeteria in Sharpstown entertaining diners. She was the Music Director for the Heaven on Earth wedding venue in Missouri City, Texas, where she played for countless wedding ceremonies throughout her career. She was active in the American Guild of Organists and belonged to several other professional organizations. She entertained guests on Cruise Ships to Theater halls. She touched so many lives with her passion for music through performing for countless weddings at countless venues, piano and organ instructions for budding musicians of all ages, and entertainment performances for diners, theatre goers and merrymakers. Sara Lee has three grown children; Michael Beitler (Paula), Joseph Beitler (Lisa) and Laura Faraone (Phil), and four grandchildren; Teddy Beitler, Cameron Beitler (Allison), Dallas King (Jade), Dillon King (Brittany), and four great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Georgia Linn Clark (Bobby). She is preceded in Death by her parents T.A. and George Morgan (nee Linn). A remembrance service will be held Saturday April 16th 11am at the First Presbyterian Church, Sugarland. Tributes and words of condolence may be left for the family at www.davisgreenlawnfh.com.
