    Ruben Rocha

    February 10, 1958 - August 18, 2021

    Ruben Rocha, 63, passed away on August 18, 2021 at Memorial Hermann Hospital, Sugar Land, Texas. He was the husband of Herlinda Triana Rocha. They shared almost 41 years together. Born on February 10, 1958 in Brownsville, Texas, he was the son of Jose Rocha Sr. and Paula Llanes Rocha. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1977 and Texas State Technical College (formerly TSTI) in Sweetwater, Texas. He was employed at Reliant Energy at the Thompsons Power Plant for 40 years, where he served as an Instruments and Control Technician, and was as a member of the fire and rescue team. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, in Richmond,Texas. He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved coaching his children, grandchildren and community youth. He was artistic, great at chess and an ace at billiards. He liked to win! He will be remembered for his love for dance where he was an active student at Fred Astaire Dance Studio, in Sugar Land, Texas. All will remember him for his wonderful sense of humor and competitive nature. Mostly, he will be remembered for his tremendous love for his family, and being a great provider, mentor and protector to all those around him. He is survived by wife Herlinda Triana Rocha, children Rebecca A (Green Powell) Rocha, Albert J (Leslie) Rocha, Catherine M Rocha, grandchildren, Evoleht N Gateley, Easton U Gateley, pet Schnauzer, Molly, his siblings, Rudolfo Rocha Sr., Elena Rocha, Raul Rocha, Jose Rocha Jr., Estella Rocha, Paula (John) Pitcher, Elva Hensley and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Esther Rocha, father-in-law Albert P Triana, mother Paula Rocha, and father Jose Rocha. The Visitation will be held at 502 S. 5th Street Richmond, Texas at The First Baptist Church of Richmond between 5:00 - 8:00pm on Friday, August 27, 2021. The Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10:00am with procession to the Green Lawn Cemetery, at 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd, Rosenberg, Texas.
