Lillian Ann (Novosad) Steffek, 89, of Needville, Texas passed away peacefully at home on August 13, 2021. She was born on July 21, 1932 in Fayetteville, Texas to Rudolph and Adela Cordes Novosad. She was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell for 35 years before retirement. She attended St. Michael's Catholic Church in Needville and was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She also helped start the KJZT Junior Division in Needville and was Junior Leader for several years. Her hobbies included cooking, canning, baking, sewing, gardening and being outdoors. She especially loved dancing and listening to Polka music. She enjoyed travelling with her family and trips to the beach. She was a very friendly people person and never met a stranger. She was also a prayerful person and devoted Catholic. This loving mother, "Gammy", sister, aunt and friend will truly be missed. In addition to her parents, Lillian is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Cyril Steffek; son, Randall Wayne Steffek; and siblings, Jane Scheel, Lad Novosad, John Novosad and Gilbert Novosad. Survivors include her daughter, Amber Cortemelia and husband, Chris; grandson, Casey Steffek and wife, Laura; granddaughters, Avery, Alexa and Azlyn Cortemelia; great granddaughter, Jordan Vogel; sisters, Rosalie Meyer, Dorothy Wieghat, Marie Sekula and Addie Jackson; sister-in-laws, Joyce Novosad and Evelyn Skellie; lifelong best friends, Irene Moore and Johnnie Zdunkewicz; along with numerous Godchildren, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. followed by Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and funeral mass at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Needville. Private burial to follow at the Church Cemetery. Monsignor Dan Scheel and Deacon Brady Williams to officiate. The family requests in light of current COVID-19 Restrictions, those in attendance are asked to wear facial coverings and respect social distancing while at the services.
