October 15, 1929 - December 12, 2021
Josephine Ann Giambelluca Dise, 92, went to be with the Lord by peacefully passing away at her home in Sugar Land on Sunday, December 12, 2021. She was born on October 15, 1929 in Sugar Land, Texas. She spent many years living in Stafford, Texas and working on her papa's farm. She met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Dise and they married in 1950. She spent many years as a full-time housewife and mother of three. She became a long-time resident of Sugar Land, Texas. Her prayers were answered by passing away in the home Bob built for her as a birthday gift in 1966 with her three children by her side. After Bob unexpectedly passed away, Josephine worked for Fort Bend ISD and later went to Alief ISD where she was better known as Josie and became the cafeteria manager. She enjoyed playing bingo at the local churches and VFW Hall, along with attending dances at the VFW Hall and going to visit her nine siblings weekly. After early retirement due to rheumatoid arthritis, she continued the activities she enjoyed on a weekly basis until she chose to be homebound in 2008. She was well known for being very sweet to everyone she met, being a second mom to many, her yearly calls to play April Fools jokes on everyone, telling her favorite squirrel joke, making the best spaghetti and meatballs, and baking Italian treats such as fig (fico) cookies, Italian cookies (scadelinas), haystacks (pignolati), Italian doughnuts (sfinci), hard candy (sogalena), and fig preserves. In later years she enjoyed getting on her iPad to play solitaire and getting on Facebook (even becoming friends with people she didn’t even know). She had fun completing word searches, enjoyed making weekly calls to family and friends, still had a sharp mind, along with continuing her wonderful sense of humor until the very end. Josephine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob; parents, Jack and Josephine Giambelluca; brothers, Charlie Giambelluca, Joe Giambelluca, and Sam Giambelluca; sisters, Carrie Ferro, Mary Maiorka, Laura Carso, Lena Ferro, Janie Schuman, and Rosa Lee Macek. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., Monday, December 20th, at Davis- Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel at 3900 BF Terry Blvd, Rosenberg, Texas, with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 21st, at St. Theresa Catholic Church at 705 St. Theresa Blvd, Sugar Land, Texas.
