    James Adolph Byrd

    August 18, 1935 - June 9, 2022

    James Byrd gained his wings early Thursday morning June 9, 2022, at home with his family just like he wanted. On June 28th would have been James and Rosalie Malek Byrd’s 64th wedding anniversary. On August 18th he would have been his 87th birthday. James was born August 18, 1935 in Gonzales County, Texas and married Rosalie Malek June 28, 1958 in El Campo, Texas. James worked at Fred Alan Co. in Houston for 15 years and Texas Instrument in Stafford for 27 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife Rosalie, children Debra Jean and husband Gerald Tobola and Christopher James Byrd and wife Tanya. Also grandchildren Jennifer Tobola, Timothy Tobola and Hannah Byrd. Great-grand children, Finnley, Camila, Leo James Tobola and Drew Cummings. He is also survived by his brother Eugene Byrd and sister Lorine Byrd Sevcik and sister in law Alice Byrd. He was preceded in death by his parents Alton Sr and Annie Laas Byrd, brothers Alton Jr and Marvin. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, June 14, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. in the Stateroom at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to American Cancer Society. Private family Graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
