    Frances Jane Nelson

    October 7, 1934 - May 7, 2022

Frances Jane Dodd Nelson was born on October 7, 1934 in Crawford, Texas to Nettie Wakefield Dodd and George Dodd. Her brother Billie was one and a half when she was born. He would walk over the crib and say “Let me see her” and her Mother would say, “It is a girl, don’t you know it?” Thus was born her nickname as he would fondly say “Sister know it.” Shortly after high school she married her high school sweetheart, Perry Mueller and they were blessed with two children, Casey and Merilynn. She later married again and had a second son, Christopher Reddington. Noit was a high achiever and confident person. During the years, she moved often and lived in several states to include Texas, Mississippi, and Illinois. When she returned to Texas she found her soul mate, Don Nelson and married him. Noit enjoyed working and did not retire until she was 74 years old. At 74, she retired to take care of Don, as he suffered with Alzheimers. Her health deteriorated upon his death. Noit spent the last five years at the Oak Village Healthcare in Lake Jackson, Texas. There, she was cared for by her daughter Merilynn Atkins and her husband, Jack. Noit looked forward to her Sunday afternoon visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Noit is survived by her daughter Merilynn Atkins (Jack), son Casey Mueller (Leah), grandchildren Christy Majercyzk (Eddie), Lamar Mueller (Casey), Ashley Salazar (Hiram), Austin Atkins (Casey), great grandchildren Ellie & Lydia Salazar, Eddie, Ava, and Nolan Majercyzk, as well as her sister Dorothy Dodd (Suzanne). Noit was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Billie, her husband Don Nelson and her son Christopher Reddington. Rest easy Noit, as many of your dearest loved ones are waiting for you.
