    David R. Beard

    February 26, 1935 - March 20, 2022

    David Ralph Beard, 87, born on February 26, 1935, in Guy, Texas to Shirley Austin Beard, Sr. and Etta Crook Beard, peacefully passed on March 20, 2022 in Harbor Hospice facility. David was preceded by his parents, loving wife of 40 years Constance Ruby “Connie” Boyle Beard plus five siblings Mary Jane Beard Rayner, Austine Beard Filla, Shirley Austin "Buddy" Beard, Jr., Sidney Pierce Beard, and Barbara Ann Beard. He is survived by four nieces and their husbands: Linda Denise Filla Esch (Ron) of Meadows Place, Nancy Jane Filla Dutton (Robin) of Erie, Colorado, Eva Dawn Rayner of Baytown and Melanie June Rayner of Baytown; two great nieces and their husbands: Laura Christine Holmes (Chris) of Houston and Lisa Lanelle Harris (Paul) of Missouri City; four great great nephews: Dustin Lee Turner (Jaimie) of Deer Park, Collin Edward Holmes of Houston and Timmy Paul Harris and Tyson Pierce Harris of Missouri City; and great great niece Leah Rose Harris of Missouri City. David enjoyed flying his plane even sometimes volunteer transporting medical supplies and personnel, livestock ranching and fellowship at Brazos Bend Baptist Church. He attended a country school in Long Point, Texas, and graduated from Needville High School before receiving Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. David grew up on an historic ranch in Fort Bend County. Proud of his Texas heritage, he was member of The Sons of the Republic of Texas, Descendants of Austin's Old Three Hundred, and Battle of San Jacinto Descendants. David’s ancestors survived the Alamo siege and the Black Bean Episode during the Mier Expedition. He served in the US Army in 84th Artillery in Germany in late 1950s and was a member of Arabia Shriners, Masonic Lodge 72 in Rosenberg, Eastern Star Chapter 429 in Rosenberg, WoodmenLife Chapter 4520 in Houston and Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2022 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. (Hwy 50 S @ FM 2218), Rosenberg, Texas 77471.
