Coretta Lou "Corrie" Knauss
December 2, 1938 - March 14, 2022
Affectionately called “Corrie” by her family and friends, Coretta was born on December 2, 1938 to Carl and Clara (Westmeier) Jacobs in Poth, TX. She attended school in San Antonio, Texas. Coretta met the love of her life, James Knauss while he was stationed at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. She and James would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this year. Together they had two children: Leslie and Tracy Knauss. Coretta was truly a multi-talented and self-starter wife, mother, and friend. She made and main-tained a wonderful home life for her family, and full time mother to her children until they went into the world. Coretta provided hundreds of hours of volunteer work with the girls’ schools. She also loved to work in her flower gardens. Little known - she loved to ice skate. Coretta was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. She loved the Lord, who was a perma-nent fixture in her daily life and family. Coretta was preceded in death by, her parents, and siblings: Carroll Jacobs, Dolly (Carolina) Jan-icke, Clifford and wife Martha Jacobs, Clara and husband Robert Pilarczyk, Cleola Yeglic and husband Johnny and infant brother, Leland Roy Jacobs. She is survived by her daughters Leslie and Tracy Knauss and husband James, brother-in-law Frank Janicke, and sister-in-law Ann Ja-cobs. Services and interment for Coretta are scheduled for Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 2:00 PM, at Davis-Greenlawn, 3900 B. F. Terry Boulevard, Rosenberg, Texas 77471 with a grave side service. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made in her name to the Houston SPCA.
