    Celia "Sally" Medina Cortez

    June 11, 1938 - February 11, 2022

    Celia Medina Cortez, fondly known as “Sally”, 83, of Rosenberg, Texas passed away on February 11, 2022 in Sugar Land, Texas. She was born in Houston, Texas on June 11, 1938 to Emilio Medina Sr. and Esperanza (Prado) Medina. Her hobbies included gardening and traveling to test her luck in Louisiana. This loving mother, “Nana”, sister, aunt and friend will truly be missed. In addition to her parents, Sally is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul M. Cortez, Sr.; daughter, Victoria Ann Cortez Martinez; siblings, Josephine Quiroga, Mary Alice Lopez and Emilio Medina, Jr. Survivors include her children, Paul Cortez, Jr. and wife, Carmen, Robin Cortez Vega, and Michael Cortez and wife, Anna; son-in-law, Joe Martinez; siblings, Roger Medina, Sandra Salinas, Michael Medina and Robert Medina and their families. Sally was the proud Nana of many grandchildren and great grandchildren which include: Paul Cortez III, Henry Jacob Cortez, Gilbert Ortiz, Janie Ortiz, Lance Paul Bosse, Joe Thomas Martinez, Tyler Emilio Martinez, Brooke Ashley Woods, Britany Elisa Vega, Michael Paul Cortez, Martina Hope Rodriguez, Zachary Israel Cortez, Mikayla Rae Cortez and Miguel Antonio Cortez; and 14 great grandchildren; along with extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 17, 2022 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 18, 2022 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Sally’s Grandsons will service as pallbearers. Tributes and words of condolence may be left for the family at www.davisgreenlawnfh.com.
