    Bernice Sebesta Mazyn

    May 14, 1924 - August 13, 2020

    Bernice Sebesta Mazyn, 96, of Richmond, Texas passed away on August 13, 2020. Bernice Sebesta Mazyn 96, went to be with our Lord on August 13, 2020. Bernice was born in Chapel Hill, Texas on May 14, 1924 to Bennie Sebesta and Helen Kopycinski Sebesta. Bernice spent most of her childhood working on the farm and tending to her younger siblings while her mom and dad worked in the fields. She married the love of her life Edward (Eddie) Mazyn on September 21, 1946 and raised 2 wonderful girls. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Bernice always enjoyed working in the yard and tending to the birds in her garden. She had the nicest yard in the neighborhood, since she mowed her lawn at least twice a week. She enjoyed going to dances and listening to country music especially, Johnny Cash, and she always enjoyed creating gag gifts for Christmas. Bernice was a devout catholic and was a long standing member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. Bernice is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband Eddie Mazyn, brothers Tellas Sebesta, and Frank Sebesta, Sister Helen Mazurkiewicz, brother-in-law Steve Mazurkiewicz, and sisters-in-law Helen Tomczak Sebesta and Leona Tomczak Sebesta, nephews Johnny Sebesta, Tellas Sebesta Jr., Tommy Sebesta, and great-great niece Meredith Witek. Bernice is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Mazyn Kramer, husband Gary, and grandson Jeff, daughter Dorothy Mazyn Layton and husband Patrick (Darrell), brother Billy Sebesta and wife Waline, sister Blanche McConnell and husband Bill, sister Nancy Gajewski and husband Steve. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and many loved ones. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m., Monday, August 24, 2020 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Pallbearers are Dwayne Gajewski, Mark Sebesta, Colton Gajewski, Charles Ondruch, James Fajkus, and Ronnie Sebesta.
