January 1, 1937 - February 25, 2021
Aurora Guebara Duran, 84, went to Our Lord and Savior on February 25, 2021, in Richmond, Texas. Aurora was born to Manuel V. and Maria G. Duran. She was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic School at a young age in Rosenberg, Texas. She departed her education at a young age and began working at various jobs to include White’s Motel. Ultimately, she retired after 25 years of dedicated service with the Richmond State Supported Living Center, formerly, the Richmond State School. While always keeping family first, her objectives were to tirelessly provide for others and to selflessly put others before herself. This included assisting with the care of her parents as well as her sisters by ensuring that their meals were delicious and that every need was met. Aurora devoted her life to others and strived to make sure those around her were happy and content until the very end. With a passion for the outdoors, she kept the yard immaculate and tended the garden with tender loving care. Not only was she a master of crochet, but also an expert at crosswords, monopoly, and checkers. Aurora loved to play Bingo. She spent many nights at the local bingo halls making friends, sharing memories, and testing her luck. No matter the occasion, she made sure to make you laugh, sing, and dance, and maybe if your lucky, learn a Selena song or two. Those left to cherish her everlasting memory are her sisters, Lucy D. Hernandez and Eusebia Duran, and her brothers, Selestino Duran, Max Duran Sr. and wife, Guadalupe, sisters-in-law Ester Duran and Martha Duran, along with many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel V. and Maria G. Duran, her sisters, Vivian G. Duran and Susie D. Montes, and brothers Eligio “Lee” Duran, Nicasio “Nick” Duran, Felix G. Duran, and Pete G. Duran. The family would like to extend their utmost gratitude and love to Aurora’s medical team at Oakbend Hospital (Jeremy), family, and friends.
