Andres "Andy" Rodriguez Montez

February 17, 1945 - April 19, 2022

Andres Rodriguez Montez, fondly known as “Andy” passed away on April 19, 2022 at his home in Richmond. He was born on February 17, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Andres and Anita (Rodriguez) Montez. His hobbies included watching the news to keep up with current events, cheering on the Astros, gardening, grilling, and spending time with his grandchildren. Andy’s career in education spanned many decades and included work in elementary schools, prisons, the Department of Education, and colleges. This loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend will be missed. Andy is preceded in death by his father, Andres Montez; and his siblings, Mary Benavidez and Albert Montez. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Beverly (Taylor) Montez; daughters, Victoria Markey (husband Mike), Kristina Montez, Melissa Johnson (husband Steven) and Katherine Beam (husband Kyle); grandchildren, Jaxon, Jasmine and Jagger Markey; Marilyn & Silas Johnson; and Wylie & Juniper Beam; numerous brothers and sisters; along with extended family and friends. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2022 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Holy Cross Episcopal Church, 5653 West River Park Drive, Sugar Land, Texas 77479. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
