Wesley Fritz Oberhoff

Wesley Fritz Oberhoff, 87, of Needville, Texas passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 5, 2018. He was born on July 25, 1930 in Needville, Texas. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Army. Wesley was a long-time member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Needville. He belonged to the American Legion Post #350, was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and was on the Volunteer Fire Department. His hobbies included playing Dominoes, fishing, barbequing and even making his own homemade wine. Once his health began to slow him down, Wesley enjoyed spending time with his family. This loving Father, “PoPo”, brother, uncle and friend will be missed. Wesley is preceded in death by his father, Henry Oberhoff; his mother and stepfather, Elsie and Russell Straznicky; wife of 62, Mildred Myska Oberhoff; brother, Leonard Oberhoff; brother-in-law, Robert Myska; and nephew, Charles Oberhoff. Survivors include his daughters, Kathy Bartman and husband, Philip, and Cindy Hartlage and husband, Carson; sister, Anna Henricksen and husband, Rick; grandchildren, Jennifer Yackel and husband, Ronnie, Abby Kettler and husband, Paul, Kristin Gorka and Dustin Richard, Matthew Gorka, Katie Sabrsula and husband, Tim, and Will Hartlage; great grandchildren, Cooper Kettler, Launie Mae Kettler, Garrett Yackel, Tucker Sabrsula, Mildred Ann Richard, Chase Yackel and Kailey Yackel; along with extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 8, 2018 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Needville. The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Needville with Father Marty Pham officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will include Wesley’s Grandsons and great grandchildren. For those wishing, memorials may be made to the American Legion Post #350 – Needville.
