Wanda Anderson Oropeza, 61, of Victoria, Texas passed away on August 14, 2023. She was born on January 8, 1962 in Houston, Texas to Willis Dan Hobizal and Gloria Ann (Tvrdik) Hobizal. In the gentle embrace of time, we gather to honor the life of Wanda, a remarkable soul whose days were graced by the simple joys that truly mattered. Wanda’s unwavering devotion to her loved ones and the quiet pleasures of life formed the heart of her journey. Wanda found her greatest joy in the company of her cherished grandkids. Their laughter and innocent wonder breathed life into her days, creating a bond that was as unbreakable as it was heartwarming. She reveled in their stories, nurtured their dreams, and watched them grow with pride shining in her eyes. Amid the canvas of her well-tended garden, Wanda found solace and purpose. Each morning, as she watered her grass and tended to her plants, she connected with the earth’s beauty and shared in its life-giving rhythm. Her hands possessed the gentle touch of a guardian, coaxing vibrant blooms to unfurl and lush greens to thrive. But Wanda’s heart was most complete when surrounded by the embrace of family and friends. Whether gathered around a table, sharing stories and hearty laughter, or simply enjoying quiet moments of companionship, she understood the true richness of life’s treasures lay in the warmth of those she held dear. Wanda’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. Survivors include her husband, Carlos Oropeza; daughter – Amanda Anderson Castor, husband Mario, children Bridgette & Maverick; son – James “Bubba” Anderson, fiancé Larissa Brenk, children Bo, Savannah, and Blythe; daughter – Tara Oropeza, children Kierstin and Michael “Mikey”; son – Christopher Oropeza and wife Deyanira, daughter Calliope; brother – Carl Hobizal and wife Candy, children Brandy Martinez, Keith and Cayce Hobizal; nieces and nephews – Ryder, Brigham, Slade, and Poppy; father in law – Fortino Oropeza, mother in law – Shirley Curi, sister/brother in law – Becky and Ronald Engbrock, children Sherri and Melissa; and many, many close relatives and friends. Wanda is preceded in death by her first husband, William “Bo” Anderson, parents – Willis and Gloria Hobizal and beloved family friend – Rueben Ludwig. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until service time at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, August 19, 2023 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Pallbearers will include Rusty Tullos, Jeremy Wrobliski, Cody Welch, Brian Wolter, Matt Castor and Eric Elwood. Rest in peace, dear Wanda.
