Walter C. Cox

Walter C. Cox, 82, of Rosenberg, Texas passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 5, 2024. He was born on January 3, 1942 in Richmond, Texas to William Edward and Odessa Bell (Bachus) Cox. Walter honorably served our country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Ticonderoga aircraft carrier and was a lifetime member of the Richmond American Legion Post 567. Walter worked for Jones Air Conditioning for many years and Gulf States Tube where he retired from. His love, other than his wife and family was working in his garage repairing lawnmowers and small engine equipment for anyone in need. Walter was always ready to lend a hand to those who asked. This loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Walter is preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Ann Cox; brothers, Ray “Buddy” Cox and Sidney Cox; sisters, Billie Blackwell, Grace Enax, Dana Zievert, Clyde Annette Hamby, Lou David and Alice Guidry. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Connie Sue (Sisco) Cox; daughters, Donna Waumsley and husband, Mark, and Marie “Wendy” Akers; siblings, Joy Frazar and husband, Ferris Joe, Edward Wayne Cox and wife, Rosie and Dessa Lynn Cox; grandchildren, Tyler Macha and wife, Danielle, Travis Macha and fiancé, Lauren Dehoyos, Nicholas Eimers-Mosier and husband, Eric, Savannah Maddox and Makaylah Macha and partner, Gus Korzekwa, step-grandchildren, Tristan Waumsley and wife Julie and Claire Vaughn and husband Austin; honorary grandchild Alex Walker and husband Brady; great grandchildren, Walker, Corbin, Emelia, Arlo, Maggie, Hudson and Hendrix along with many extended family and friends. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a service at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 11, 2024 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
