Virginia "Mickey" Rizzuto

Virginia Lee Rizzuto passed away on September 25, 2024 at the age of 91 in Sugar Land, TX. She is survived by her Sons, Rick and wife Jana, Jerry and wife Donna; Grandchildren, April Allen, Holly Farkas and husband Josh, Zach Rizzuto and wife Mel, Laura Weisman and husband Jonathan, Melissa Miles and husband Grant, Jenny Rizzuto; Great Grandchildren, Lincoln Farkas, Grayson Farkas, Aubrey Allen, Brayden Allen, Cole Allen, Roxy Rizzuto, Violet Miles, Starla Miles, Blake Sisco, Lexi Sisco, Ty Sisco, Bliss Weisman. Virginia was born on January 30, 1933 in Richmond, Virginia to Fenner and Virginia Hazelgrove. She attended George Washington University where she played basketball. It was at George Washington University where she met the love of her life, Frank, while he was playing football. They married and settled in Woodbury, NJ where Frank was the owner of Frank’s Motor Parts. They welcomed two beautiful sons who were the most important part of their lives. Frank and Mickey were married for 71 wonderful years. Mickey was a loving, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She would do anything for her family. She was also a strong woman of faith and taught Bible classes and Ladies Bible Class at church for many years at the Pitman Church of Christ in New Jersey and also at the Graeber Road Church of Christ Church of Christ in Rosenberg, TX. She was multitalented and was a skilled seamstress, baker, and cook. She was also a huge sports enthusiast and took great joy in attending all of her children's, grandchildren's, and great grandchildren's sporting events. She was a loyal Astros fan but also still loved the Phillies from her many years of living in New Jersey. Her family and friends called her “Mickey” and her grandchildren called her “Grammy”. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and her smile showed her joy when everyone was gathered at her home. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will continue to be carried on by her family. A memorial service to honor Mickey will be held at Graeber Road Church of Christ,1910 Graeber Rd, Rosenberg, TX 77471, on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. There will also be a private graveside service for family and close friends at the Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3900 B. F. Terry Blvd, Rosenberg, TX 77471 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Graeber Road Church of Christ "Widows and Widowers Fund", 1910 Graeber Rd, Rosenberg, TX 77471.
