Thelma Carr

Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Gibson Carr will be held at Zion Watchtower Baptist Church, 606 FM 359, Richmond, at 11:00 a. m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009. Food will be served at the church cafeteria immediately after the funeral service. Interment will follow at 3:00 p. m. at Forest Park Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer in Houston. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a. m. until 11:00 a. m., Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Zion Watchtower Baptist Church in Richmond. Mrs. Carr was born in Richmond on May 24, 1917 to Jim and Ollie Townsend. She attended school in Richmond. Her first marriage was to Jasper Gibson. After his death she was married to Willie Clyde Carr. Thelma loved attending Zion Watchtower Baptist Church where she was one of the pioneer members. She also loved attending Fort Bend Seniors and spending time with her family. She passed away September 24, 2009. Mrs. Carr is preceded in death by her husbands, Jasper Gibson and Willie Clyde Carr and her brothers, Oscar Lund and John S. Henderson. Survivors include her seven children and their families, L. J. Gibson and wife, Cecile, and their son, Lawerence Javier Gibson and daughter, Suezette Gibson; Shelly Gibson Jones and husband, Arlington, and their daughter, Millie Jones Chatham and husband Kenneth, George Andrew Gibson and wife, Carolyn, and their daughter, Renae Grant and husband, Eric, and their son, Daryl Gibson, Thelma Ruth Gibson Mobley and husband, Leonard, and their son, Byron Mobley and wife, Lavette, and their daughter, Donna Mobley Thompson and her husband, Steve, Ollie Ann Carr Moore and her daughter, Brandi Moore, Eleanor Joyce Carr, Stanley Clyde Carr and wife Karen, and their daughters, Ashlyn Carr, Cameron Carr, Kelee Carr Boukhriss and her husband, Mohammed; great-grandchildren, Lawerence Desean Gibson, Tanisha Gibson, Jamine Gibson, Kenae Chatham, Shellcy Chatham, Erin Grant, Issac Grant, Ashton Gibson and Byron Mobley II; sister-in-law, Sarah Lung; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
