Shirley A. Sebesta

Shirley A. Sebesta, 67, formerly of Rosenberg, was born on January 2, 1957, in Houston, Texas, to Bennie and Margaret (Nowak)Faterkowski. Shirley attended Christ the King Catholic School until the eighth grade where she then entered public school. Shirley married at an early age and had a loving son, Brian, and 4 and a half years later, welcomed her loving daughter, Lisa. Her greatest love was her grandchildren, Bryleigh, Brendal, and Brody. She loved when they came to visit and spend time with her, and called her “Bushie”, the Polish name for Grandma. Her other passion was working for the Lamar CISD food service department for 32 years until her retirement. She loved being around the children and serving the people who needed her. She was always helping someone. Shirley will truly be missed. In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her uncle, Leonard Nowak; special friend, Henry Wetz; the father of her children, Tellas Sebesta, Jr.; her nephews, Darrell Faterkowski and Kurt Hacker; and her in-laws, Johnny and Tommy Sebesta. Shirley is survived by her loving children, Brian Keith Sebesta and his wife, Dianne and Lisa Marie Pless and her husband, David; special friend, Hubert Byrum; her brother, Daniel Faterkowski; grandchildren, Bryleigh & Brendal Pless and Brody Sebesta; aunts, Pauline Jacobs, and Gertrude Nowak; and sisters-in-law, Mary Hacker, Florence Fajkus, Lee Ann Sebesta, and Linda Eastman and their families; as well as many other family and friends. The family would like to give a special, heart-felt thank you to Hubert for taking good care of Shirley in her final days. They will forever be grateful. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2024 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Beasley. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Pallbearers will include Daniel, Daniel Jr., Douglas, Travis and Gunner Faterkowski, Brody Sebesta and Andy & Carl Schmidt. Honorary pallbearers will include Bryleigh and Brendal Pless.
