Rudolpho "Rudy" Rodriguez Sr.

Rudolpho “Rudy” Rodriguez was born May 20th, 1946 to Celso Rodriguez Jr. and Anita Rodriguez in Sugar Land, Texas. He was a loving Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Friend, and to some Coach and Umpire. Rudy Sr. was the 1st born out of eight kids. He grew up in Sugar Land, Texas. He attended E.A. Jones Elementary, Sugar Land Junior High School, and graduated from Dulles High School. Rudy went on to join the United States Air Force in 1967 and was Honorably discharged in 1970. Rudy retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 31+ years of service. He was also employed by Fort Bend I.S.D., where he drove the Athletic bus for many years. Rudy was also a lifelong member of St. Teresa Catholic Church and a C.C.E. Teacher to many. Rudy was also heavily involved with the Sugar Land Little League as a Board Member, Coach and Umpire. Rudy was an avid Sports Fan. As one of the Astros BIGGEST Fans and Coaching from the couch, Rudy never missed a game. GO ASTROS! Rudy is preceded in death by loving wife Minnie Rodriguez; parents Celso and Anita Rodriguez; his sister Elsa Rodriguez, his brother Jaime Rodriguez, Grandson Ty Cavazos. He is survived by his son Rudy Rodriguez J.; granddaughters Riley and Gabriella Rodriguez; son Stephen Cavazos and his wife Katherine Cavazos; grandchildren Jaime Anissa Anthony Cavazos and Kenneth Chambers; and many Great Grand Children. Rudy is also survived by his brother Manuel Rodriguez and his wife MaryAnn Rodriguez; his sister Celia “Sally” Smith and her husband David Smith; his sister Lucinda “Cindy” Jaso and her husband Joe Jaso; his sister Rachel Drouin and her husband Greg Drouin; his brother Celso Rodriguez III; and his many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 7, 2022 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sugar Land with Fr. Juan Pineda officiating. Burial with military honors to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Pallbearers will include Rodney Rodriguez, Joseph Jaso, Domingo Montalvo, Jason Mata, Miguel Zavala and Chris Cloninger. Alternate Pallbearers will include Rudy Rodriguez, Jr. and Stephen Cavazos. For those wishing, memorial donations may be made to the Blinded Veterans Association, P.O.
