Rosemary Ward Pemper

Rosemary Ward Pemper was born in Aurora, Illinois, on December 6, 1952, to Doyle and Flora Ward. She was the second of two children, alongside her brother, Cy, whom she loved very much. At the age of four, Rosemary asked Jesus to come into her heart, and never deviated from that commitment. Rosemary earned a double major in Spanish and Sociology from Northern Illinois University and also lived and studied in Guadalajara, Mexico. After teaching middle school in Florida, she returned to Aurora, where she worked as a social worker and met her true love, Rick (Richard) Pemper, at Central Bible Church. Rosemary and Rick later relocated to Texas, where she spent 19 years as a Senior Tax Preparer at H&R Block. At the Sugar Land Premium Office, she also doubled as the Director. Rosemary closed out her career as a successful realtor with Heritage Texas Properties. Her clients always appreciated her ability to help them obtain their dream home, and many of these clients became lifelong friends. Rosemary had many gifts. She played the piano beautifully, often sharing her talent with church families throughout the years, teaching lessons professionally, and playing for her own joy. She was also a voracious reader and could articulate anything that was profoundly complex in mere seconds. Above all, Rosemary loved her family. As a mother and grandmother, she never missed an event. She was always ready to pick up a grandchild from school, bring them along on errands, or simply spend time together at home. Her family always knew they could count on her. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Richard Pemper; her daughter, Kathryn Elizabeth Baumbach; her son, Landon Barnes Pemper; her son-in-law, Peter Baumbach; her daughter-in-law, Kelly Pemper; and her three grandchildren, Claudia, Helena, and Riley. Rosemary and Rick were soul mates for 46 years. The love they shared was the center of her life and a blessing to all who knew them. She will be deeply missed and continuously loved until reuniting on the other side in Glory. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 13, 2026 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
