Rono Harold "Ronnie" Howell

Rono (Ronnie) Harold Howell, Papa, was born April 19, 1936 in Spur, Texas. Ronnie married Carolyn Sue Carnes on July 6, 1957. After their few years of army service, they settled and remained in the Fort Bend County Area managing several ranches. In his later years, he enjoyed rebuilding and cleaning saddles as well as making leather tack. His greatest loves were spending time with his family, dancing, riding horses, and fishing with Sue. He spent many years serving on the Board of Directors with the Fort Bend County Fair where he acquired many lifelong friends. One of his greatest joys was being in the Alamo movie. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sue Howell, parents, Clark and Ina Howell, and sister, Janice Sparks. Survivors include: Children, Rhonda Howell, Yvette Gutowsky, Candy Hobizal & husband Carl, Brenda Mahlmann & husband Ernie, Ron Howell & wife Melissa and Patti Gutheinz. Grandchildren – Tye Blue, Brandy Martinez, Suzette Long & husband Billy, Ashley Diestel & husband Arthur, Keith Hobizal & wife Cayce, Aaron Mahlmann & wife Natalie, Grant Mahlmann, Mason Howell, and Mallorie Howell. Great Grandchildren – Taten Blue, Jeffrey Long, Maddie Long, Kelsey Zakem, Ryder Martinez, Brigham Hobizal, AJ Diestel, Ashton Diestel, and Slade Hobizal. Brother, Weldon Howell and wife Mary Lou, sisters Juddi Gilmore and husband Ben and Terri Waters and husband Randy. He also is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends as well. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 23, 2019 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Burial with military honors to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Pallbearers – Tye Blue, Keith Hobizal, Aaron Mahlmann, Grant Mahlmann, Taten Blue, and Mason Howell. Honorary Pallbearers – Billy Long, Arthur Diestel, and Jeffrey Long. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
