Raymond James Macha Jr.

Raymond James Macha Jr., born on September 24, 1948, in Rosenberg, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026. Raymond was a proud graduate of Lamar Consolidated High School. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1973, attaining the rank of Sergeant. After his service in Thailand in 1969, he returned stateside and was stationed in Fort Worth, and later at Altus, where he continued his military career with honor and dedication. Following his military service, Raymond trained for a career as an inspector in the oil industry. He built a respected career in nondestructive testing, ultimately retiring as a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist, known for his precision, reliability, and strong work ethic. Raymond furthered his education at Wharton County Junior College, where he studied Electrical Engineering, reflecting his lifelong curiosity and dedication to learning. A man of deep faith, Raymond was a devoted member of Holy Rosary Church, where he found strength, community, and guidance throughout his life. Raymond will be remembered for his quiet strength, integrity, and unwavering devotion to family, friends, country, and faith. He had a lifelong love of electronics and carpentry, taking pride in building, fixing, and working with his hands. He also enjoyed cooking, especially making barbecue for his loved ones, creating gatherings filled with warmth and connection. He also enjoyed watching old westerns and war shows, reflecting his appreciation for history, resilience, and tradition. He is lovingly survived by his devoted partner, Deborah Gomez; his sons, Gregory Macha and Alan Macha; his brothers, Mark Macha, Michael Macha, and Donnie Macha; his sisters, Jeanette Gulbrandsen and Judy Macha Newmann; and grand children, Brittany Macha and Tyler Macha, along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory always. A visitation will be held on May 13, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg, Texas. A burial service will follow at 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM at the Houston National Cemetery (Veterans Memorial Cemetery) in Houston, Texas. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the example he set through a life of service, craftsmanship, and love. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
