In Loving Memory of Rafael Adrian Villagomez, Jr. Rafael Adrian Villagomez, Jr., 74, of Rosenberg, TX, passed away peacefully and went to be with his Lord on July 16, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 24, 1951, in General Teran, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to Rafael Villagomez Sr. and Eufemia Rodriguez Villagomez. Ralph lived a life defined by integrity, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. If he gave you his word, you could count on him. He never let his family down, and those who knew him understood that his promises were never just words—they were commitments. Ralph was the kind of man who quietly gave of himself without expecting anything in return but never shied away from reminding you of his great deeds. He shared what he had, helped whenever he could, and often went out of his way to make someone else's burden a little lighter. He wasn't motivated by possessions, more so by recognition. He was a man of high standards who valued common sense, hard work, and self-reliance. If you came to him looking for sympathy, you were just as likely to receive a lesson instead. His straightforward nature wasn't always easy to hear, but those closest to him understood it came from a place of wanting the best for the people he loved. Growing up in Rosenberg, Ralph spent much of his youth surrounded by elders who taught him countless practical skills and life lessons. During those years, he also learned to play the saxophone, and as a teenager he joined The Blu-Lites, playing with the group for more than 10 years while also working as the Top Salesman at Home and Lumber for 8 years. In his prime, there were very few who could beat him in a game of pool. You could also find him on a ball field, and many knew him as Bambi. Ralph was a quick learner, dependable, and capable, earning a reputation as someone who was often the first person chosen for any job. His strong work ethic and willingness to learn meant he never struggled to find work as a Union Laborer in the Construction industry. To his grandchildren, Ralph was more than PoPo - he was their safe place, their teacher, and one of their greatest sources of joy. He rarely said "no," but every "yes" came with a lesson, a smile, or a memory they would carry forever. His granddaughter Raelinn fondly remembers the trips to the store when he would pretend to screech the tires as he made a sharp turn, just to hear her laugh. He attended every sporting event to watch his beloved Ginelle and Romeo. Then a visit to McDonald’s and to the store for countless toy purchases. They all remember getting lunch visits with PoPo at school throughout the year. It wasn't about the drive or the destination; it was about creating moments that made his grandchildren feel loved. Those simple acts of Love became treasured memories that will live on for generations. Ralph leaves behind a legacy not measured by wealth or possessions, but by the countless lives he touched through his kindness, honesty, hard work, and unconditional love. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved. Rafael was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Susan Villagomez. He is survived by his son, Sergio Villagomez, daughter, Victoria Villagomez Miller and her husband, Bryan; grandchildren, Ginelle Garcia, Raelinn Aubrey Villagomez, Romeo Miller and Violet Miller; sisters, Blanca Cruz, Alma Flores and her husband Samuel, and Rosalva Villagomez; nieces and nephews, Barbara Villareal, Brenda Garcia, Maria Rodriguez, Jackie Cruz, Samuel Flores, Jr. Philip Anthony Flores, Amanda Villagomez, and Christopher Henderson; as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends who will cherish his memory. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2026, in the Chapel of Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg, TX. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 23, 2026, in the Chapel of Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg, TX followed by burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Deacon Albert Yanez will officiate the services. Pallbearers will include: Sergio Villagomez, Bryan Miller, Philip Flores, Sammy Flores Jr., Romeo Miller, John Cantu, Joshua Mata, and Chris Henderson. Honorary Pallbearer will include Samuel Flores.
