Philip Charles Preston

Philip Charles Preston, known to many as Phil, 50, of Rosenberg, Texas passed away on February 25, 2026. He was born on February 5, 1976, in Houston, Texas. Phil grew up in Rosenberg and was raised across the tracks. From an early age, he was determined to build a different future for himself. That determination carried him through his graduation from B.F Terry High School in 1994, and helped him to become a first-generation college graduate, earning his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston in 2002. In 2001, Phil began his career at Silver Eagle Distributors. Through hard work and dedication, he spent the next 25 years rising through the ranks ultimately becoming an Inventory Supervisor. Phil was a cherished and loved member of the Silver Eagle family. He took pride in his work and in the friendships he made, he formed bonds that extended beyond the workplace and became a part of his extended family. Phil’s proudest accomplishment was being a father. He devoted himself wholeheartedly to his three daughters, Lauren Adele Preston, Kaylee Mae Preston, and Sydney Nicole Preston. They were his whole heart and greatest source of joy. To them, he was simply Dad. He spent much of his time ensuring they were always taken care of and supported as they ambitiously worked towards building their individual futures. Watching them grow brought him immense pride and happiness. In his free time, Phil found joy in collecting and restoring LED neon and metal brand signs, taking pride in each piece. He also had a deep appreciation for specialty bills and coins, carefully preserving and expanding the collection he had built over the years. Half-dollar coins held a special place in his heart—each one he discovered was a small treasure and a source of genuine joy. One of Phil’s favorite pastimes was participating in the Texas lottery. He enjoyed picking up scratch-off tickets and occasionally joining in on the drawings. Though he didn’t get to go often, he especially cherished trips to Louisiana to visit the Golden Nugget. These outings were rare and meaningful to him, making each visit an exciting and memorable experience. Phil touched many lives over the years and could always be counted on for grounded words of wisdom and thoughtful advice rooted in his faith. His presence will be deeply missed. Phil is preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Goldie Preston and his sister-in-law, Symantha Rae Cantu. Survivors include his three daughters, Lauren Adele Preston, Kaylee Mae Preston, and Sydney Nicole Preston; the mother of his children, Sabrina Cantu; beloved family pets, Prince and Rose; his mother, Adrian Preston; his siblings, Cedric Preston, Desiree Preston, Marita Sanchez, and Elizabeth Sanchez; mother-in-law, Peggy Arredondo; His brother & sister- in- laws, John Cantu, Alyssa Cantu, Christopher Cantu, and Peggy Cantu whom he lovingly helped raise and held a special place in his life; along with a host of friends and colleagues.
