Pedro G. Ramirez

Pedro Ramirez, a lifelong Rosenberg-Richmond resident, passed away on June 4, 2007, at the age of 89 in Richmond, Texas. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rojelia Ramirez; his son, Domingo Ramirez; and his grandson, Danny Mirelles. He is survived by: Sons: Pete Ramirez and wife, Lillie, of East Bernard, Mike Ramirez and wife, Janie, of Damon, Tony Ramirez and wife, Mary Ann, of Richmond; Daughters: Janie Moreno and husband, Jose, of Sinton, Frances Arriaga and husband, Mac, of Richmond, Elva Castillo and husband, Art, of Austin, DeLores Lacarter of Richmond, Yolanda Alaniz of Rosenberg; Twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends. In his early years, Pedro worked and eventually retired from the floor business. Pedro, known to many as Pete, had a passion for life and embraced it. He refused to allow his health to dictate his quality of life. Pete lived each day to the fullest. He will be remembered for his love of music and his zest for life. Born in Mexico, on July 1, 1917 to Juan and Luciana Garza Ramirez, Petes lifelong ambition to become a United States Citizen was fulfilled by his enlistment in the United States Armed Forces where he was honorably discharged. He was a member of St. John Fisher and in his latter years he attended and became a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Rosenberg. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 6, 2007 with a rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Rosenberg. Interment will follow at San Gabriel Cemetery in Richmond. Father Lee Flores will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Joe Moreno, Robert Ramirez, David Ramirez, Kristian Ramirez, Stephen Alaniz, Roy Alaniz, Roberto Ramirez and Isaac Ramirez. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Alaniz, Eralio Ramirez, Tony Moreno, Richard Mirelles, and Michael Ramirez. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F.
